  A castle set in a beautiful walled city on the border of Spain & Portugal. The residents are warm and helpful. The Parador staff is excellent and will assist you in anyway they can. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The Parador restaurant is beautiful with sweeping views of the river and valley. We stayed two nights on a road trip through Spain & Portugal.

  The building itself is amazing and quite historic. What rubbed us the wrong way was that they charged our 3 year old daughter 8 euros for a breakfast, which didn't happen anywhere else in Spain and Portugal

  OMG! What a great place to stay to visit Ciudad de Rodrigo. An amazing historic Moorish castle in a compact walled city. An excellent stay in a beautiful Spanish Portuguese border town.b

  Beautiful hotel and stunning town - definitely worth a stay! I would have given it 5 stars but because of lack of swimming pool only gave 4. However, the gardens are beautiful and the terrace bar is lovely. The town was a complete surprise - lot's of restaurants, bars and things to do and magical architecture!
